You Who Came in Incheon

Visiting the filming locations of “My Love from the Star”
It has already been three years, yet we still remember “Do Minjun” and “Cheon Songi.”
My Love from the Star is a Korean television series about an alien who landed on Earth, and fell in love with a girl in the modern era.
Though it was a fantasy, it recorded high viewership.
Many people know some of the best scenes were set in Incheon.
It is time to turn off the televisions and hit the road to filming locations.
Cheondo cliff at Seoksan, Songdo, Incheon Do you remember the place where the all-time destiny for Do minjun and Cheon Songi happened?
Its sheer cliff was impressive. Yes, it is Songdo Seoksan.
Songdo Seoksan was a quarry. After losing its value, it was neglected for over 20 years.
With the destiny of two main characters, it has been brought back to life.
After the drama ended, it has been remodeled and become a place where visitors can be the hero and heroine.
From the entrance, posters of the drama are on display along the walls.
The captivating storyline on the backside of the posters remind the viewers of the longing.
The path on the right side shows you the Cheodo cliff, which witnesses the destiny happened 400 years ago and the heartbroken parting. It takes only 20 minutes, no sweat even for couch potatoes.
In “Worm Hall Zone,” the space connecting the Joseon era and modern times, visitors can experience time slip. It satisfies our desire to return to the past. Binyeo, Korean traditional ornamental hairpin, a token for love in the drama, has become a popular souvenir for the beloved. Fences are packed with a lot of binyeo and star-shaped wishing chains, which tell their own stories.
A red car and palanquin! It might seem a strange combination, yet an icon symbolizing their fated love. There is a photo zone for the “certification” of your visit. Why don’t you take a picture with the car and palanquin in the background?
Visitors can overlook the West Sea and the silhouette of high-rises in Songdo New City. The sunset view is true to its name, one of the perfect locations for sunset. Splendid night-view is another must-see. Though they are not the “stars,” the city lights glitter like jewels.
Incheon University
I would like highly recommend the Songdo campus at Incheon University, if you want to sit under lecturer Do Minjun, a Mr. Perfect.
Its brand-new landscape was set in many episodes of the drama: Do Minjun’s class; Cheon Songi’s special broadcasting; a failed student of Songi; identifying Jaekyung, Hwikyung’s older brother; and lawyer Jang’s disclosing a secret that Do Minjun might die.
Information boards are all around, so that strangers will have no difficulties doing campus tour by themselves. Among them, a must-stop is an observatory named “Global Island.” It is a “hot spot” positioned on the 8th floor and overlooks the whole campus. Please note that you cannot speak Korean.
Incheon Metropolitan City Museum
It is the Korea’s first public museum, “Incheon Metropolitan City Museum” that the binyeo, which connects the two main characters for 400 years, were on display.
While the drama finishes, visitors can still see the binyeo.
In fact, the binyeo is just a prop for the drama. As many foreign visitors come to see the item, the binyeo becomes the most popular exhibit.
Visitors can observe various relics from Goryeo dynasty through Joseon-era to Japanese colonial era and modern times. The museum also well-known for its shape of dolmen reveals Incheon’s hidden stories through special exhibition by seasons.
