Songwol-dong Donghwa Village

Songwol-dong was a wealthy village where foreigners lived after the port was opened. But in the old village itself, vacant housing lots increased until only the elderly resided there. In order to revitalize the neighborhood, a project was undertaken to draw murals on the old walls and install sculptures in various places in the theme of a classic fairy tale. Thus Songwol-dong has been transformed into a tourist attraction culturally representative of the area, providing a unique attraction to tourists visiting Jung-gu, Incheon.
