Incheon City Museums

There are several history museums in Incheon where you can see local history and culture. Incheon historical museums where you may get a sense of the city's past is a tribute to Incheons's deep and complex heritage.
Compact Smart City
The Compact Smart City(Incheon City History Hall) is a place where you can see the history and transition of Incheon, which became Korea's first planned city after opening of the port. The modern city hall on the first floor introduces the formation process of Incheon from the opening of the port to liberation. On the second floor, The Incheon Model Hall offers a panoramic view of the city plan. The IFEZ model hall on the 3rd floor provides exhibition commentary on Songdo, Yeongjong and Cheongna, which are free economic zones. After looking at Incheon from the past to the present, it is also good to take a tour of Incheon City at the tourist information center next door or take a walk at Songdo Central Park.

Sorae History Museum
Sorae History Museum was created to preserve the history and story of Sorae Port, which is disappearing due to rapid urbanization. It is composed of four themes that represent Sorae: the tidal flats, the port, the salt field, and the Suin Line narrow-gauge train. The first floor introduces the process of producing salt in Sorae, where there was a salt field in the past, and displays a narrow-gauge train that passed the Suin Line. On the second floor, the Suin Line, Sorae Railroad Bridge, and the waiting room are reproduced. It is good to stop by on the way to Sorae Port Fish Market from Soraepogu Station on the Suin Line.

Bupyeong History Museum
The Bupyeong History Museum was built to promote the history of Bupyeong. There are also exhibits of historical relics and a local exhibition hall that was donated by citizens. It is made so visitors could see the economic and industrial history of the 1980s from the modern agricultural culture era. There is also an experience hall where you can experience a folk culture of restoring thatched houses from the 19th century.

Yeongjong History Museum
The Yeongjong History Museum displays the history of the modern and contemporary era from prehistoric relics excavated from Yeongjong Island. It is a place where you can see the history and value of Yeongjongdo by period through historical relics and the rapidly changing process of the relics. There is also an experience center where you can experience folk materials and experience them in person.
