In Incheon, exhibitions by famous artists as well as local artists are often held. The exhibition spaces are also very diverse, from classic exhibition spaces to renovated abandoned buildings. Thus, we will introduce 'Incheon Exhibition Spaces', where various art projects are being carried out to revitalize local arts.

Incheon Art Platform

The Incheon Art Platform, which opened in September 2009, is a multiplex cultural arts center transforming the turn of the century structures and nearby buildings as part of the old downtown restoration project. It offers exhibitions, performances, and civic participation education programs centered on the artist residence program, creating a platform for networking among artists, and actively promotes creative exchanges between artists both in Korea and with international art communities. It also serves as a creative space for artists to develop various artistic genres and programs, and as a space for citizens to share art.

Cosmo 40

Cosmo 40 is a complex cultural space developed by transforming a 40-year-old abandoned refining plant of the Cosmo Chemical Factory Complex into a venue in Gajwa-dong, Seo-gu. It preserves the unique charm of the abandoned factory building and is popular with many people as a unique space. This place not only sells various foods such as coffee, craft beer, pizza, and bakery, but also exhibits many concepts, establishing itself as a famous cultural complex in Incheon.

Paradise Art Space

The Art Space, an exhibition space in Paradise City Hotel pursuing an art-tainment complex resort, consists of a permanent exhibition room based on a variety of collections and a special exhibition room that encompasses popularity and trends. In the permanent exhibition room, you can see the signature works of world-renowned artists such as Damian Hearst and Jeff Koons, as well as exhibitions of the major collections of Paradise City, organized according to themes. In addition, in the planning exhibition room, you can see various works of art such as architecture, design, fashion, and media, as well as fine art. It is a free experience for new and old artistic minds to explore.

Space beam

As you pass through the streets of the secondhand bookstore in Baedari, Dong-gu, a large tin robot stands out. This is an installation that guards the entrance to the ‘Space Beam,’ which is an alternative art space and urban community building completed by remodeling a former brewery. It is a cultural space where various exhibitions, education, and gatherings are held, and it strives for urban regeneration and local community recovery by utilizing cultural and artistic values. When you go inside, the traces of the old brewery remain, creating a different atmosphere, and you can feel that it is a place where many people moved back and forth, and made contact and exchange of civilizations between Seoul and Incheon. Also, if you go up to the second floor, there is an unmanned independent bookstore and café, where you can enjoy a coffee while drinking.
