Podium 126: A Space That Will Make Your Memories of East Incheon Even More Precious

Podium 126 01

Podium 126 is a café and stationery shop run by In The Local Cooperative. The cooperative's mission is to “make Incheon a travel destination worth visiting,” and they create various cultural content, including merchandise and local tour programs. One of its outcomes is Podium 126, which was established with the aim of sharing the beautiful scenery of East Incheon with travelers. The name “Podium 126” combines “Podium,” symbolizing a cultural and commercial space, with part of Incheon's longitude (126˚42’18”E), reflecting the area’s unique local features.

This space offers more than just a stationery shop. The two-story wooden building, constructed in the 1920s, houses a small merchandise shop and a café on the first floor, while the second floor serves as a co-working space. In the souvenir section on the first floor, you can find stationery, fashion items, and other products crafted by Incheon-based creators, as well as carefully curated items selected by Podium 126. Among the offerings, postcards showcasing Incheon’s scenery and stained-glass key rings made from upcycled Incheon Beer bottles stand out as particularly unique.

The “Traveler to Traveler” section, located to the right of the drink pick-up counter, offers a unique opportunity for travelers to become temporary pen pals. You can write your thoughts about Incheon on a ticket-shaped notepad and drop it in the mailbox, where you’ll receive a note from another traveler in return. After browsing the souvenirs, you can relax with coffee and sweets while enjoying the sunlight pouring through the large windows. The Podium Latte, made with homemade vanilla bean syrup, along with chestnut-shaped and cinnamon sweets created in collaboration with Incheondang, a 40-year-old pastry shop, will leave you with a sweet aftertaste of your trip.

The second-floor co-working space features a dark wood-toned interior, perfectly complemented by soothing jazz music. Beneath the century-old wooden beams, the jazz melodies of trumpet player and musician Chet Baker fill the air, creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
